The County Clerk's Office performs the following functions:
- Administers elections and voter registration within New Madrid County including absentee voting
- Administers candidate filing for county offices and some political subdivisions
- Issues Notary Commissions to those who are approved by the Secretary of State
- Payroll and benefits for county employees
- Clerk to the County Commission
- Clerk to the Board of Equalization
- Budget Officer and oversees accounts payable with the Treasurer
- Facilitates all insurance programs for the County
- Preparation of annual financial statement
- Works with political subdivisions for finalization of tax levy certifications
